RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A woman charged in connection with the murder of a Richmond jewelry store clerk is expected in court on Monday.
Jermeaka Gorham is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Muhammad ‘Big’ Baig. He was shot and killed inside Victoria Jewelers on East Broad St. last May.
49-year-old Jesse G. Edmond, of the 1400 block of Enfield Avenue, 26-year-old Anthony J. Lenard, of the 00 block of East Clay Street and 24-year-old Paul L. Townes Jr., of the 1700 block of Chicago Avenue, were also charged in connection with Baig’s murder.
Edmond, 49, was found guilty of first- degree murder, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, one count of using firearm while committing murder and one count of using a firearm during a robbery. Edmond was sentenced to life plus 18 years.
Townes pleaded guilty to second degree murder and was sentenced to 22 years and nine months in prison. Lenard pleaded guilty to two counts of robbery and one count of first degree murder. He’ll likely spend at least 50 years behind bars.
Gorham is set to face a judge for a 9 a.m. plea hearing.
