Hanover man shoots brother during family dispute

HANOVER COUNTY, Va (WRIC) —  Hanover authorities are currently investigating a shooting that occurred in the 10000 block of Pleasants Circle in Doswell on Thursday morning.

When crews arrived on the scene they immediately gave the victim, identified as 52-year-old Charles Lacy, medical assistance and transported him to Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center where he is being treated for his injuries.

The suspect of the shooting is reportedly Lacy’s 50-year-old brother, Jessie Lee Lacy.

Jessie Lacy was taken into custody and is being charged with aggravated malicious wounding, shooting within an occupied dwelling, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He is currently being held a Pamunkey Regional Jail with no bond.

A motive is still unclear at this time, but reports say that a family dispute could be the reason behind this incident.
