TAMPA, FL (WFLA) — Kicking off Slurpee season, 7-Eleven is hosting “Bring Your Own Cup Day” at stores this Saturday.
Grab the largest cup you can find, anything from a carafe, to beaker, to glass jar, and head to the nearest 7-Eleven and fill up with a Slurpee on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. No matter what the size of the cup is, the Slurpee will cost $1.49.
The only requirement is the cup must fit upright through an in-store display with a 10-inch-diameter hole. “Sorry, trash cans and inflatable swimming pools are not eligible,” 7-Eleven’s website reads. “From sand buckets to trophies, customers can unleash their creativity by bringing in their choice of a unique, fun Slurpee cup.”
This is the first time BYO Cup Day has been held in the United States, although 7-Eleven stores in Australia, Canada, the Philippines and Malaysia have held BYO Cup Days in the past.
