RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Areas of fog have developed this morning, really dropping down visibility along and surrounding the I-95 corridor as of now.
Fog is expected to thicken in the next several hours into the morning commute. We’ll keep clouds and light scattered showers in the forecast today. Temperatures are starting off mild, in the low 60’s for most, but a cold front to our north will sink south today keeping temperatures from warming today. We’ll keep pretty consistently in the 60’s, with little movement in the mercury. You’ll want to keep the umbrella handy today with these on and off showers. Tonight remains cloudy with showers, a low of 50.
Tomorrow we’ll be heavy on the clouds again, with a few isolated showers around. Despite a few chances for light rain, Thursday doesn’t look all that wet. Highs are in the low to mid 60’s.
Friday we’ll see a warm front lift through the area and really warm us up. Highs will be in the upper 70s to even low 80s. A strong cold front moves through in the afternoon and brings us the chance for thunderstorms, some of which could be on the stronger side. Biggest threat with these potential storms will be damaging winds.
The weekend is shaping up quite nicely. After a pattern of clouds and rain that we’ve had much of the week, the sun finally returns. We’ve got sunshine and 72 on Saturday, with sunny skies and upper 60s on Sunday.
We’re back to the 70’s with a dry start to next week.
