SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A suspect is behind bars Thursday just hours after San Francisco police released a video showing the vicious attack of a homeless man in the city’s Tenderloin neighborhood.
Wednesday night at 9:18 p.m. near Larkin and Geary Streets a homeless man was attacked with a pipe.
The victim, identified by only his first name Robert, required 50 stitches on his head and remains hospitalized with critical injuries.
Police still do not know a motive for the attack, but they believe the two men may have been involved in a confrontation earlier in the day.
Officials have not released the suspect’s name.
Before arresting the man, police said that the attacker would be charged with attempted homicide.
