CHEATHAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – Detectives in Cheatham County honored a young boy’s wish by placing a note in his dead mother’s hand.
The note read “I love you Mom” and was written after the boy and his two older siblings found their mother dead in their home when she failed to wake them up for school Thursday morning.
Cheatham County Sheriff Mike Breedlove said the boy handed the detectives the note as they processed the scene.
Sheriff Breedlove wrote on his Facebook page that the 36-year-old woman likely died of a drug overdose although an autopsy will have to confirm that.
The woman’s family told News 2 she had ongoing health problems.
Should her death be drug-related, Breedlove said she would be the fourth person to die from drugs in Cheatham County in the last three weeks.
Catching the drug dealers who sell narcotics in Cheatham County is something the sheriff says he is committed to.
“We are determined and resilient in going after these drug dealers who are poisoning our communities,” he wrote on Facebook. “We have been busy arresting drug dealers this week as well. I am mad and fed up with you who peddle your junk.”
