Glass was shattered by gunshots in two offices at the James Monroe state office building in downtown Richmond at some point during the weekend. The building was unoccupied during the incident and there were no reported injuries.
The Division of Capitol Police recovered evidence from the scene, located at 101 North 14h Street. Shards of window glass were found in a Department of Accounts office on the second floor and a Department of Treasury office on the fourth floor. The offices are both on the south side of the building.
No one was inside the building at the time of the shooting and there were no injuries.
At 30 stories tall, the Monroe Building is the tallest structure in the Richmond skyline. It houses about 1,000 state employees and is maintained by the Department of General Services.
