NORFOLK, Va. (WRIC) — Billboards featuring missing Longwood University student Anjelica Hadsell went up across Hampton Roads this week.
The new billboards are a measure of hope that her family is clinging onto after “AJ” hasn’t been found after an overnight search in Norfolk.
Norfolk police got a tip around 12:30 a.m. Thursday linking AJ to department spokesman Officer Sam Shenouda.
Police in Norfolk got a tip around 12:30 a.m. Thursday linking AJ to Northside Park, according to 8News sister station WAVY-TV 10. Officers searched the area looking for clues in the investigation of her disappearance, but found nothing.
AJ is a freshman at Longwood University and was home in Norfolk for spring break when she disappeared last Monday. She was last seen March 2, around 2 p.m. near her Millard Street home.
Ten digital billboards across the region are now asking people, “Have you seen AJ?” They were put up at no cost to the family, who recently announced a $3,000 reward for information leading to Anjelica’s whereabouts.
While Norfolk Police have not confirmed this information, AJ’s father told 8News sister station WAVY-TV 10 that police have conducted ground searches, as well as searches from the air and in the waterways around their Norfolk home.
Anyone with information about AJ’s is asked to call Norfolk detectives at 757-664-7026.
