NEW YORK (AP) – Treveon Graham scored 22 points and Melvin Johnson added 16 as VCU held off Fordham 63-57 in the second round of the Atlantic 10 tournament on Thursday.
The fifth-seeded Rams (23-9) advanced to the quarterfinals to play Richmond on Friday. The Spiders swept two meetings with their crosstown rivals during the regular season.

VCU, which went 5-5 after losing point guard Briante Weber (knee injury) for the season, shot 30 percent from the field but made up for it with 20 offensive rebounds.
Johnson swished a 3 with 2:28 left to make it 58-52, but Jon Severe hit a 3 moments later to cut the lead in half. Severe led Fordham with 14.
Graham came back to score off an offensive rebound with 58 seconds left to make it 60-55.
