On July 21, 2014, Spotsylvania County Detectives were called to the scene of an alleged sexual assault in the Sylvania Heights Mobile Home Park. A suspect was identified by the victim as Lee Jeffrey Borras, 23 of Spotsylvania. The victim was transported to Mary Washington Hospital for an examination and collection of evidence of the assault.
Detectives later interviewed Borras, who denied any knowledge or participation in an assault on the victim. DNA samples were obtained and forwarded to the Forensic Sciences lab in Richmond for analysis and comparison to the evidence collected from the victim’s examination. Results of the forensic analysis indicated a positive match to Borras.
Working with the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, Detectives obtained two direct indictments against Borras. He was charged with Aggravated Sexual Battery. Borras was arrested on both indictments on 3/2/15 and taken to RRJ and is currently held without bond.
