RICHMOND, Va. — First-year VCU head coach Beth O’Boyle will have to wait a year for her first Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament win, after the St. Louis Billikens dispatched the Rams 65-58 Thursday morning.
St. Louis scored 33 of its 65 points at the free throw line, hitting 33 out of 38 from the charity stripe, nearly an 87% clip.
O’Boyle had no comment on the officiating.
The Richmond Spiders fared much better Thursday. UR beat UMass 67-63. The Spiders will play Fordham Friday at 2:00 PM.
The Atlantic 10 Conference has opened the tournament up for FREE, thanks to the poor weather in Richmond.

Tomorrow is “Snow Day, No Pay” at the Richmond Coliseum. Games tip off at 11:00 a.m., followed by a contest at 2:00 p.m. which will feature hometown Richmond Spiders taking on defending A-10 Champion Fordham. The day wraps up with games at 4:30 and 7:00 p.m. So get out of the cold and your house and come enjoy a great day of basketball action with a trip to the NCAA Tournament on the line.
