Area Families Catching Cabin Fever from Extended Snow Days

CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WRIC) — It’s been weeks since area students had an uninterrupted week of school with all the snow days recently, and cabin fever is starting to catch up with some families.

Like many families, brothers Jay and Justin of Chesterfield have played lots of board games to pass the time. Toy trains have taken up plenty of their time, too. And sledding…that is when there’s snow on the ground.

“After a while, it’s cabin fever,” one brother said.

Justin has actually helped the National Weather Service by measuring snow near his home in Chester.

“Reporting a snow total to the sky one group,” he said.

Other students in Hanover County used some of their free time to get creative and make a music video.

And of course trampoline parks are getting lots of business too.

Like many brothers, Jay and Justin say they may be getting on each other’s nerves a bit, but they’re enjoying the extra time nonetheless.

“We can all kind of come together as a family when we don’t have that time during the week.”
