Breakfast was on the house at the Belmont Restaurant in Manchester, New Hampshire for a man celebrating his 101st birthday Monday.
The restaurant’s policy is to give customers a percentage off their birthday bill based on their age, according to 8News affiliate WMUR. So at 101, Joseph Nelson actually received a 7 cent refund!
The World War II veteran said he never thought he’d live this long, but he offered an answer as to why.
“I put all my faith in God and I think that all of my life, every decision I’ve made in my 100 years, I think God made it for me,” he said.
Nelson ate scrambled eggs and ham, and topped it off with a piece of chocolate cake.
