One Adult, Child Displaced After Henrico Apartment Fire

HENRICO, Va. (WRIC) — One adult and one child have been displaced following an apartment fire in Henrico County’s northside Saturday afternoon.

At 1:18 p.m., the Henrico County Division of Fire responded to the 5600 block of Crenshaw Road after occupants in the apartment were alerted to the fire by a working smoke detector.

5609CrenshawRd01When crews arrived, they found a small fire inside the apartment and were able to bring the fire under control quickly and prevent it from spreading to other units in the building. The apartment where the fire originated was the only unit to suffer fire and smoke damage. Two adjoining units suffered minor smoke damage.

No injuries were reported as all occupants made it out safely. Officials said one adult and one child will be displaced for a short period of time.

The Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
