CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WRIC) – Tony Bennett’s Cavaliers have faced a fair amount of adversity this season. The adversity they faced on Sunday was a little more painful to endure. In the second half, Malcolm Brogdon and London Perrantes collided face to face, leaving Perrantes with a bloody, cut, broken nose and a mild concussion; and Brogdon with a cut over his right eye.
Despite the hits to their best players, and having three total out with injuries, UVA’s bench stepped up in a big way. Darion Atkins, Mariol Shayok and Anthony Gill all pitched in 31 of UVA’s 51 points.
The Pack Line Defense also limited FSU to 41 points, making that four of their last five opponents held under 42 points.
The second ranked Wahoos play at Wake Forest on Wednesday, February 25th.
