CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. – The Chesterfield County Police Department has released the identity of a man whose body was discovered Sunday, Feb. 15, under a bridge that crosses the Appomattox River.
James Walton, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene after his body was found last Sunday afternoon under the bridge on Temple Avenue between Prince George County and Colonial Heights.
The Office of the Medical Examiner has determined that Walton, who has no permanent address, died as a result of hypothermia.
There is an ongoing investigation, however no foul play is suspected.
