RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond Public Schools superintendent Dr. Dana Bedden has been selected as one of four finalists for the head job for Boston Public Schools.
Bedden informed the Richmond School Board in a closed, emergency meeting Wednesday night that he will take that job if he is selected, according to sources.
Boston’s mayor’s office announced their four top candidates Thursday afternoon. In addition to Bedden, they are considering administrators from Los Angeles, San Fransisco and Nevada.
All four candidates will participate in a four-day interview process starting February 23, which will include public forums and discussions.
Bedden joined Richmond Public Schools in 2013. He was the first superintendent to come from outside of Richmond in 17 years.
