RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — We are tracking a weak weather system moving through the Ohio Valley this morning and that will bring us the risk of a few showers this afternoon and evening.
It will be a seasonable day with highs in the middle 40’s. Our skies will slowly clear out tonight and it will be cold with lows near 32.
Friday will feature partly sunny skies with highs in the lower 40’s.
Saturday will be sunny and chilly with highs around 40.
During Sunday a weather system will move out of the Tennessee Valley and head toward the Mid Atlantic. This is the storm system that on all of the weather models, during the past couple of day, had moved well north of Virginia. However, this morning many of the medium to long range models have altered the track of this storm by shift it south nearly 300 miles. This track returns the chance of accumulation snow to many areas in Central Virginia, especially along and north of I-64, for Sunday night into Monday.
It is important to note this significant change but not to push the panic button that a big snowstorm is coming, because as quick as this change happened, it could change back in upcoming model runs. This is certainly something to pay attention to.
Behind that system the sunshine will return for Tuesday and Wednesday with highs in the 30’s.
