State Legislators Still Reviewing Possibility Of Action Against Delegate Joe Morrissey

HENRICO, Va. (WRIC) — It’s been more than a week since the General Assembly has convened, and lawmakers have still not decided if they’re going pass any disciplinary action against Delegate Joe Morrissey.

State legislators are working to decide if they’ll vote to censor or expel Morrissey, who entered an Alford plea to a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor in December.

Prosecutors claim he forged a document was used at his sentencing, but Morrissey says he’ll clear his name.

Morrissey’s defense team said that the document in question was not fraudulent and that there are additional pages that were not submitted to the court that they say proves this. Morrissey has also said several times that Neely was out to get him
