Chesterfield Man Facing Multiple Charges of Animal Cruelty After Police Seize 14 Hunting Dogs

CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WRIC) — A man is facing multiple charges after officers found 14 hunting dogs without adequate food or shelter.

Police say that the dogs were found on January 11, in the 19900 block of River Road.

Police responded for a report of multiple hunting dogs with inadequate food and shelter. The dogs were housed at a hunt club.

Fourteen dogs, all hounds, were seized.

Six of the dogs were taken to an animal hospital for immediate medical care. The remaining eight dogs were taken to the shelter.

At this point, all of the dogs are expected to survive.

Anthony R. Paschall, the dog’s owners, is now facing multiple counts of cruelty to animals as well as ill treatment of animals. Paschall is also charged with not having a license or up to date rabies shots for the dogs.
