When crews arrived at the scene, the horse had been lying on the ice for an hour and couldn’t stand.

An animal rescue team and vet were called in with specialized equipment. Because of the horse’s condition, though, fire and rescue had to be called in as well.

The team effort was a success.

The vet gave the horse warm fluids, soon after he stood up and began eating and drinking.

A very happy horse!
