Police Searching For Armed Robbers After Two Incidents On Virginia State University Campus

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Police are searching for suspects involved in two related robberies.

Police say that on October 16, two robberies occurred on the campus of Virginia State University. The first incident happened in parking lot 36 located on the campus.

Authorities say a man was reaching into the trunk of his car when he was approached by several hooded suspects. He was ordered to his knees and robbed at gunpoint of his wallet and electronic devices.

One of the suspects struck the victim in the face with a gun before all three fled the area.

Shortly thereafter, a second robbery occurred in the parking lot of the Monroe Hall dorm building.

As the victim was walking from the parking lot into the dorm, he saw a newer, champagne-colored, four-door Honda Civic approach. Police say that a black male got out of the Civic, pointed a gun in the victim’s face and ordered the victim to his knees. The victim heard a gunshot, but was not struck, and the suspects drove away quickly.

Police say there were at least three black male suspects involved.
