The Richmond Spiders snapped a three-game losing streak Thursday with a 75-65 win over George Mason. They can thank hot shooting for the win.
The Spiders shot 68% (17 of 25) from the field in the first half including 6 of 9 from behind the arc and 2 of three from the free throw line.They cooled off in the second half to finish the game at 55.8% shooting, but that’s better than previous games.
“The first half was probably our best offensive performance all year,” said Head Coach Chris Mooney.
Four Spiders finished in double figures, including sophomore guard ShawnDre’ Jones, who scored 13 points to go along with 3 assists. T.J. Cline (14), Terry Allen (20), and Kendall Anthony (19) also finished in double figures.
Richmond is now 1-1 in Atlantic 10 play and 8-7 overall. They next hit the court Sunday at home against St. Bonaventure.
