Two Iowans Arrested in New Kent, Charged With Abduction After Girl Rescued From R.V.

NEW KENT COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Two Iowa residents have been arrested in New Kent and are facing abduction charges.

According to the New Kent County Sheriff’s office, Iowa residents Aldiar Hodza and Laura Evelene Sorensen are being held in Henrico County Jail and are facing abduction of person with intent to defile charges.

Chief Deputy Joseph McLaughlin said that on Wednesday, deputies responded to the Pilot truck stop on Route 106 after someone called and reported suspicious activity.

The caller said he noticed an individual going in and out of an R.V. He then noticed a female appear in the window of the vehicle before being pulled back quickly.

Police arrived and took Hodza and Sorensen into custody.

McLaughlin said that the girl, believed to also be from Iowa, was taken into custody by the FBI.
