Police Make Arrest In Robberies and Carjacking

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Police have arrested a Chesterfield man for a robbery and carjacking that occurred yesterday and commercial robberies that occurred this morning.

Damon L. Pierce, 33, of the 4900 block of Sheppards Mill Drive, Chesterfield, has been charged with several counts of robbery and carjacking.

Authorities say that around 5:17 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to the 2000 block of Stockton Street for a report of a male with a handgun who robbed a cab driver and stole the taxi vehicle.

The cab was later recovered in the 2700 block of Hull Street.

Around 1:35 a.m. Friday, officers responded to the 7-Eleven convenience store at 2525 Broad Rock Boulevard for a report of a robbery. An employee reported a male with a handgun robbed the business.

Later that morning, around officers responded to the 7-Eleven convenience store at 2001 W. Broad St. for a report of a robbery. Police say a male with a handgun robbed the business and fled in a silver SUV.

Moments later, officers spotted the suspect vehicle southbound on South Meadow Street and attempted to pull it over. A short distance away, the vehicle lost control in the 1500 block of Kansas Avenue and the driver fled on foot.

Officers quickly made the arrest.

A BB gun was recovered from the vehicle.
