Diandra Casullo has a genetic disorder that has left her intellectually delayed her entire life.
Her parents, John and Maureen, are always looking for ways to get her out of her “own little world” and into “the world that exists.”
Diandra participated in the Challenger basketball program, which allows special needs students to play against each other. During that time, the Deep Run High School cheerleaders cheered at the Challenger games.
John says Diandra lost interest in the basketball but said she wanted to cheer. Thanks to some proactive folks at Deep Run, Diandra got her wish Wednesday night.
