Technical Media Operator (Part-time)
Technical Media Operator (Part-time- 26 hours/week-weekend) The ideal candidate will be familiar with Yamaha Audio consoles, Ross OverDrive, Crispin Rapid PlayX, and television station operations within FCC Regulations. Our TMOs perform a variety of tasks from Audio Operation, to Ross OverDrive operation for newscasts, to Master Control functions including satellite receiver operations, and commercial and program delivery. We are seeking a sharp, dependable, well-organized individual with the ability to multi-task and display good judgment in live broadcast situations. Willingness to work nights and weekends required. WRIC-TV8 News is looking for an aggressive, innovative and creative News Producer to help take our product to the next level. The top candidate is an excellent writer who has a passion for news, solid editorial judgment and the ability to handle breaking news and weather. This person knows how to produce compelling and informative newscasts that make an impact with an audience on-air, online and on social media. No show stackers here. Think outside the box. Seek different ways to make your newscast unique. You must be creative and a strategic thinker. The ideal candidate should be well informed about current events. We need a leader and team player who can meet deadlines. A minimum of 3 years’ experience is required. EOE M/F/D/V Drug/Background Screen. We only offer internships to college students who need the internship for a grade or course.
The following is needed for internship consideration:
–One-page paper, double-spaced explaining why the student wants this internship and what they hope to learn. Include the department/career of interest such as news (producing, photography, reporting), production, sports, graphics, weather; and specify the semester needed (Fall, Spring or Summer).
–Confirmation email from an advisor, dean or registrar’s office saying the internship is needed for the student’s grade/course. Include how many credit hours are needed (This varies with each student and school).
**Without all three documents, student will not be considered for an internship**
