A 58-year-old woman who allegedly left six of her grandchildren unsupervised in a Williamsburg hotel room for at least 10 hours is now facing charges.
According to ABC affiliate WVEC, Diana Lynn Taliaferro, 58, has been charged with five misdemeanor counts and one felony count of child neglect.
Major Stephen Rubino of the James City County Police Department said Taliaferro left the six children, all under the age of 11, at the Pineapple Inn in Williamsburg. The children, including a two-year-old, were left alone for at least 10 hours.
There are “several stories” about the woman’s activities, said Maj. Rubino, but she returned to the hotel room the next day. It is believed she was under the influence of alcohol.
The children were turned over to a family friend
