The Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in the shooting of an unarmed store clerk.

The perpetrator entered the Fas Mart, located on Brock Road and Plank Road shortly before 3 a.m. on Saturday, March 8. He approached the counter and asked the clerk for a smokeless tobacco product, possibly Grizzly Wintergreen.

When the female employee turned her back to the suspect, he pulled out a handgun and shot the victim in the back of the head. The suspect then grabbed the ephedrine locked cabinet and ran out the front door, where he then shot the fleeing employee, again.

The suspect is described as a white male, 25-40 years old, approximately 5’6″-5’8″ in height, 200-230 lbs, with a reddish/brown in color beard or goatee, black hoodie shirt, khakis pants and gloves. Citizens must be aware that this suspect possibly has changed his appearance now.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Spotsylvania County Crime Solvers at 540-582-5822 or 1-800-928-5822.
