The Petersburg community rallied to support a middle school student with cancer Thursday.
Peabody middle held the “Hoop it Up” fundraiser for Trequawn Dunn. The 14-year-old has been battling bone cancer since May, and has been undergoing chemo. He recently had his right leg amputated.
The game was between school faculty and the Petersburg High School varsity team.
Money from the event will go to help the family pay for medical bills.
“I’m excited that they’re doing this for me,” said Dunn.
“He’s excited that he was able to come,” said Janet Ulmer, his mother.
