Student Arrested During ABC Sting Sues for $40 Million

CHARLOTTESVILLE (WRIC) –  A UVA student charged after fleeing from ABC agents who thought she bought beer while underage has filed a $40 million lawsuit against the state and seven ABC agents.

Last April, Elizabeth Daly and her friends were leaving a Charlottesville store with sparkling water when they were confronted by plain-clothed ABC agents who thought the 20-year-old had bought beer. Daly panicked and took off, grazing the officers with her car. The charges against her were eventually dropped.

In the suit, Daly claims she suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and other issues since the incident.
