CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC)—Three lanes of Hull Street Road are currently closed due to a diesel fuel spill caused by a motor vehicle accident.

On Friday morning, a vehicle collided with the side of a tractor trailer, where the fuel tank is located. According to Lieutenant Jason Elmore of Chesterfield Fire & EMS, approximately 1 gallon of diesel leaked from the saddle tank onto the road. Elmore says that the spill did not impact the environment, as no diesel spilled into nearby storm drains.

The accident took place on the 10200 block of Hull Street Road, near the intersection of Hull Street Road and Price Club Boulevard. Two westbound lanes and one eastbound lane of Hull Street Road are closed until further notice. Cleanup crews are expected to be on scene for several hours on Friday afternoon.

One person suffered minor injuries in the crash.

No charges have been filed at this time.
