DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC)—Virginia State Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash involving a tractor trailer that caused delays on I-85 North at mile marker 49 on Thursday morning.
Around 3:30 a.m. on Dec. 26, 47-year-old Terry Curry, of Waxhaw, N.C., was driving a 2014 Freightliner tractor trailer when he dozed off and ran off the left side of the roadway. When he overcorrected, the vehicle ran off the right side of the road, overturned and hit the guardrail.
The trailer was loaded with metal piping that was struck by a 2009 Saturn during the incident. The driver of the Saturn was not injured.
Curry was wearing his seatbelt and suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to Southside Regional Medical Center and charged with reckless driving.
