Longwood University Welcomes 26th President

FARMVILLE, Va. (AP) – Longwood University has inaugurated its 26th president.
W. Taylor Reveley IV was officially installed as president of the Farmville university on Friday. He was named Longwood's president earlier this year and took over on June 1.
In his inaugural address, Reveley described Longwood as an historic institution “where the Civil War ended and civil rights began.”
His father, W. Taylor Reveley III, has been president of the College of William and Mary since 2008. He attended his son's inaugural, calling him the right person for the job.
Reveley's grandfather, the late W. Taylor Reveley II, was president of Hampden-Sydney College from 1963 to 1977.
Longwood was founded in 1839. It has 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at its five colleges.
