Patrick Henry High Evacuated After Bomb Threat

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC)—The Hanover County Fire Department and K-9 units inspected Patrick Henry High School in Ashland after a bomb threat was received Friday morning around 11 a.m.

Students were evacuated to nearby Liberty Middle School as a precaution.

“My
heart was racing,” says Patrick Henry senior Ryan Fulton. “I didn't really know what to
think. I didn't know it was a bomb threat at the time. I just knew we were
being evacuated. I was scared. I didn't know what to think really.”

The evacuation process lasted for about 20 minutes. The Hanover Fire Department sweeped the area and students were taken back into the High School. They
did not find anything dangerous.

The
sheriff's office is currently investigating this incident.
