HOPEWELL – On
September 26, the Hopewell Animal Shelter temporarily stopped accepting cats
into their facility due to a highly contagious feline virus.

As of
November 1, the Hopewell Animal Shelter will again house cats in their
facility.  Owner surrenders are accepted
at the shelter on Thursdays between 7 and 8 a.m.

“We
would like to thank all involved for their cooperation during this time, and
especially our veterinary partners for their advice and counsel,” said
Animal Control Supervisor Amanda Hoak in a press statement.

Anyone with questions should contact
the Animal Control Unit at (804) 541-2204.
