HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC)—Henrico County Police have arrested a man in connection with a homicide that occurred nearly 20 years ago.
On June 13, 1994, Henry Weatherford suffered a fatal gunshot wound and was found dead in his home on the 5000 block of Crenshaw Avenue. His Oldsmobile Delta had been stolen the day of his murder and was located in Bridgetown, Mo. in July 1995.
Lonny Ray Wiseman has been charged with Weatherford's murder; the relationship between the two men is unknown at this time. Wiseman, who is currently incarcerated in Anamosa, Iowa, was charged with one count of murder and one count of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He will be brought to Henrico County for a trial at an undetermined date.
Susan Scoven, daughter of Weatherford, says “I would like to thank the detectives involved, and the Commonwealths Attorney, for helping to bring some closure to me and my family. I ask that our privacy be respected at this time.”
