Harrington and Murphy Families Remember Missing Girls

CHARLOTTESVILLE – It's been
four years since Morgan Harrington was last seen and every year the Harringtons
come back to try and raise awareness about her case.

On the anniversary of her
disappearance, the Harrington family is joined by the family of Alexis Murphy,
who disappeared 75 days ago just a few miles away.

The Harringtons say they
have developed a very special connection with Murphy's family.

“When I saw Laura Murphy's
face, and I knew what it was to be the eyes inside of the face, I reached out
to her and we will help her carry as other people did for us,” mother Gil
Harrington says.

“Gil knows exactly what
I'm going through, She knows what a mother feels,” Alexis' mother Laura Murphy
says. “I'm able to ask her questions that only she can answer.”

And now both families are
holding out hope that Morgan's killer will be found, and that Alexis will make
her way back home.

“This could happen
anywhere, it could happen to anyone,” says Alexis' aunt Angela Taylor. “It's
unfortunate that it happened to two really great families.”
