RICHMOND, Va – Fire crews from both Richmond and Chesterfield were dispatched to the 2500 block of Buford Ave around 2pm Saturday.

Fire crews arrived to have smoke and fire coming from the home. Crews got the fire under control quickly within 17 minutes.

All occupants did get out safely, but sources say that there may be a family pet still missing.

The American Red Cross, Eastern Virginia Region is providing food, shelter and clothing to two adults and one child displaced by a home fire on Buford Road in Richmond.

“Our first priority is to provide for the immediate needs of those displaced,” said Red Cross Media Relations Director, Jonathan McNamara. “Our volunteers are providing the family with food, shelter and clothing and will work with them over the coming days to ensure their needs are met.”
