LOUISA – Groundbreaking of the new Louisa High
School took place Wednesday evening.
The $43 million building
will replace the current school, which was severely damaged in the 2011 earthquake.
A year ago 8News went
through the old building. There are big reminders of the devastation the
earthquake caused, including green fencing and signs of warning to everyone to
stay out of the school.
More than 2000 high school
students have been attending school in modular classrooms and that will
continue until the new building is complete.
