PETERSBURG, Va. (AP) – Hazing charges have been dismissed against two Virginia State University students and another man.
The three men pleaded guilty four weeks ago, but Petersburg's chief prosecutor agreed to drop the charges if they complied with several conditions. Reports that the charges were dismissed Friday.
Twenty-two-year-old Leroy Amankrah, 23-year-old Christopher Barnes-Prevot, and 28-year-old William Nicholson II were charged with misdemeanor hazing for an incident involving the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity.
Also charged was 22-year-old Student Government Association president Brandon Randleman. He has asked the court to set aside his guilty plea.
Details of the incident that led to the charges have not been divulged.
