RICHMOND, VA—Hundreds of people came together Friday to remember Virginia State Troopers killed in the line of duty.
Law enforcement, friends and family crowded the Virginia State Police gymnasium, in remembrance of more than 14 troopers killed in the line of duty.
Two of whom, Trooper Andrew D. Fox and Master Trooper Junius A. walker, were killed just this past year.
“Each one of them has a story—each one of them had a lifetime of achievements and aspirations cut short— too sudden, too soon,” said Col. W. Steven Flaherty with Virginia State Police.
Trooper Andrew D. Fox died in October, when a car struck him as he directed traffic on special assignment in Hanover County.
Master Trooper Junius A. Walker was shot and killed in March, while performing a routine traffic stop.
