The plane crash is still an ongoing investigation that Virginia State Police is handling. At this time through an initial investigation, an experimental aircraft attempted to land several times and crashed in a field in the City of Suffolk.

It is confirmed that the pilot and passenger both died upon impact. Troopers have notified the FAA and NTSB. The aircraft was not involved with the air show currently taking place in Suffolk.

Once State Police completes the investigation and identification of the deceased have been made, a follow up written release will be sent out.
