Shooting Of Chesterfield Suspect Ruled Justified

CHESTERFIELD, Va. (AP) – A grand jury has determined that the fatal shooting of a Chesterfield County man by police was justified.
A Chesterfield County police officer shot and killed 39-year-old Brian T. McDaniel inside his home on Dec. 10, 2012. Police have said officers were trying to serve felony arrest warrants when McDaniel pointed a handgun at them.
Chesterfield police provided a redacted copy of the grand jury's ruling to the Richmond Times-Dispatch. The newspaper says police wouldn't identify the officer, whose name was removed from the grand jury's written ruling.
