Family Looks For Closure In Death From 12 Years Ago

Richmond, Va – One Richmond family waited for more than a decade to find their missing family member, and then last fall they received closure, but not the way they wanted. Brenda Gee Knight was 35 when she disappeared in 2000. Someone murdered her and her skeletal remains showed up on the banks of the Mattaponi in King and Queen county a year later.

Officials say she was found still in her boots and jewelry. The body was found, but the child she left behind is still looking for answers.  The family is hoping that someone will contact authorities with information that will lead to an arrest.

Knight's funeral will be held at the Walter J.  Manning Funeral home Saturday at 1 p.m. The address is 700 N. 25st in Richmond.

The family has also set up at fund a Brenda Gee Knight Memorial fund at Wells Fargo Bank.
