The $10 million project includes two football field, a drill field, a field house with lockers and weight rooms.

After dozens of mature trees were mistakenly removed from behind The Science Museum of Virginia in preparation for the site, members of the Richmond City Council called for a full investigation. Mayor Jones said the trees would be replaced.
