are looking for the driver of a car that hit a child near a school bus Thursday
It happened has the child was getting on the bus in the 2200 block of Williamsburg Road.
The 7-year-old child was struck by a car and suffered minor injuries. The
car then left the scene, police said. A description of the car was not

“It was like the car went errr and just hit him,” said 8-year-old
An oncoming car hit the child, then police say both the school bus and the car
drove off when an adult neighbor took the victim inside a home.
Police and school officials are investigating whether the driver turned on
the flashing light or pulled out the stop sign when he pulled over to pick up

school bus, 68-year-old Eddie Randolph was cited for failing to report an
accident involving injury.

Richmond City Schools released the following statement:
“We are saddened that one of our students was the victim of a hit and run
accident while attempting to board one of our buses. We remain in communication
with the family and are working with the Richmond Police Department as they
investigate the incident to help facilitate swift justice. We are also
conducting our own internal investigation into the matter and are reviewing our
bus safety protocols to ensure proper procedures and swift communication
processes are being followed to promote the safe passage of our students to and
