Chesterfield Man Convicted In Arson Spree

CHESTERFIELD, VA—A Chesterfield County man was convicted on five counts of arson.

John Bradley Smith, 31, of the 600 block of Bristol Village Drive in Midlothian, pleaded guilty on five counts of arson in connection with a spree of arsons across Chesterfield County.

Between May 11, 2012 and May 26, 2012, five fires were intentionally set in the Midlothian area of Chesterfield County, police said.

All of the fires occurred at vacant buildings, three of those were homes, one was an antique shop and another was a daycare building.

Smith is scheduled to be sentenced February 14, 2013.
