Charges Dropped Against Regency Mall Shooting Suspect

Henrico, VA—Most of the charges against the man involved in the shooting inside Regency Square Mall Monday, October 8 have been dropped.

23-year-old Moses Bryant was charged with malicious wounding, shooting in public place and firearms charges after the shooting. These charges were nolle prossed Thursday afternoon; prosecutors did not present enough evidence to convict Bryant on these charges .

Bryant was convicted of a distribution of marijuana charge, and has been sentenced to 12 months, with 11 of them suspended. He must also pay a $100 fine.

At least three people were injured in the October 8 shooting, as panicked customers fled the North Parham Road mall after hearing a single gun shot ring out from a bathroom. One person was injured by gunfire.

Police were on the scene within three minutes after the shot was fired. Officers say that the shooting happened during “some sort of transaction.”

23-year-old Moses Bryant was arrested in Richmond at 2:20 Thursday, October 11. He has an extensive criminal history.
