Black Hawk Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing In Hanover

Hanover, VA—A UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter made an emergency in Hanover County today, due to an equipment issue. There were no injuries.

The helicopter landed safely in a field, and the crew of three National Guard soldiers was unharmed.

The crew, the Virginia Army National Guard's Sandston-based 2nd Battalion, 224th Aviation Regiment, 91st Troop Command, had been conducting a routine training flight when the equipment problem arose.

A maintenance crew is on the scene, making necessary repairs so that the helicopter may return safely to Sandston.
